Fairytales

Once upon a time there was a girl who had once met the Dalai Lama. She had lunched weekly with a US Senator and served as nanny to a family in Kaiserslautern, Germany. She had packed up and moved to Japan for a year of confusion, travel and the occassional all night binge with country singers. She met Rob Schneider along the crowded streets of Madrid. She founded a collegiate group dedicated to the International Criminal Court. She was a dancer and a pianist. She picked up a language...or two, studied politics and international relations, devoted herelf to coffee, Salinger and travel itineraries. She was motivated, dedicated, connected. She was interesting. Once.

I feel as though that stage of my life is all over now. Save the coffee...there shall always be coffee.

That's still who I see.

I hope your new stage has potential and happiness... and coffee...

I think you are pretty damn interesting.

Not because you lived in Japan, worked in Germany, studied in Spain, or worked with a US senator. Not even because you know more languages, and better, than I do or have read more Salinger than me. Those are components, granted, that have shaped you.

But that's not why I think you are a fascinating person. Travel and experiences don't make you interesting by themselves...
